July 18, 2018

– To check for boneless associated with periodontal disease (gum disease).
Gum disease can cause tooth loss and an X-ray will show how advanced it is.

– To look for an infection or abscess.
Infections can occur along the root or very bottom of a tooth, which can only be seen with an X-ray.

– To check for tooth decay.
Decay is not alwAys seen with the naked eye, it can be found between the teeth and under existing fills where the dentist cannot see.

– To examine an area before a procedure.
Before implants, braces, or tooth removal is done, the dentist needs a full view of the teeth and supporting structures.
