The blog today is about the value of volunteering. The Commerce Drive Dental group has had a history of volunteering in the past. We have participated in international missions for several years in three different countries (Ecuador – three trips to different villages, Panama, and Belize). We have also volunteered in programs such as “Give Kids a Smile,” the “Donated Dental Service” (DDS) program, and last summer our office participated in the Minnesota “Mission of Mercy,” held right here in Mankato. This coming summer, we are planning on again volunteering for Minnesota’s “Mission of Mercy,” to be held in Bemidji this year. Numerous staff members, as well as the three dentists, have spent many hours of time providing free dental work for truly needy patients. This service we have provided gives us a feeling of giving back to our community as well as to the world. When Americans go into a third world country to provide dental services, the natives are very appreciative of our efforts. We also see the same response when helping our local citizens. Volunteering and helping people will always be a part of the Commerce Drive Dental Group!
