The sugar and acid in pop and sport drinks can cause a lot of damage to your teeth. Diet drinks contain their own acid. Each time you take a drink it takes 20 minutes to neutralize. The acid weakens your enamel, which can lead to decay. Swishing with water to dilute sugar or using a straw to keep the sugar away from your teeth can help. If you are going to have a beverage with acid and/or sugar try to drink it all at once instead of sipping all day. It is best to have these drinks in moderation.
