Everyone wants to be seen on time; it is simply human nature to not want to be kept waiting. At Commerce Drive Dental it is always our goal to be prompt so that any waiting is minimized. Sometimes, however, our best intentions go astray. It is not unusual to have multiple patients show up every day with severe toothaches, broken teeth, or swollen soft tissue, as well as assorted other dental problems. On average, each doctor probably helps three to four of these patients a day. This simply takes unscheduled time to treat and relieve their discomfort. The single most stressful event the doctors encounter daily is keeping a patient waiting. Believe me when I say that when we are off-schedule, our hygienists, dental assistants, and front desk ladies all let us know in no uncertain terms. Commerce Drive Dental really strives to keep waiting to a minimum, so if you have been kept waiting in the past, please accept my apologies. It will always be our goal to treat all of our patients as we would want to be treated. Thanks for reading.

Looking after your oral health can really make a difference in how healthy you are. Teeth are an important part of your body, and keeping them clean helps keep your mouth and body healthy. Your oral health is also really important as it enables you to do something very special: SMILE. It can make a positive effect on your physical and mental health, costs nothing, and is the same in every language.
By taking care of your teeth, eating a balanced diet, and making regular visits to your dentist, you can have healthy teeth and a beautiful smile to share for the rest of your life.

Great news! Some of the local schools are now participating in a Dental Health Program.
Dental professionals are going to the schools to do oral screenings for possible dental problems. Children will receive a toothbrush, oral hygiene instructions, and a fluoride varnish application, all at no charge. Parents then receive a report on the care provided. It's a great way to get an extra screening in for the year and a fluoride treatment for your children. Check with your school to see if they are participating and if they are, when it will occur. It's a great, beneficial opportunity for all kids.

2014 is right around the corner, and with that comes (for most patients) a new year of insurance benefits. If you have unscheduled treatment needs, call your insurance company to see what you might have available for remaining 2013 benefits because now is the time to schedule year-end appointments. Our fall and winter schedule tends to fill up with patients trying to use up either insurance or flex spending dollars before the end of December. Remember… if you don’t use your benefits, they are lost. Call us at 345-7786 for an appointment today!
