One factor is how healthy your gums are, including the depth of your periodontal “pockets;” if you have pocket measurements of 4 mm or deeper, you should have them cleaned more frequently.
The second important factor in your re-care interval is the amount of calculus, or “tartar,” that accumulates on your teeth. If you have any questions about the best interval for you, just ask us at your next appointment what we would recommend.
