Flossing is one of the most important steps in good oral hygiene. There are several different techniques to accomplish this step of your routine. One of the most common is the traditional string floss. Floss is available in many thicknesses. If a patient has a bridge, traditional floss will also be used with a bridge threader. There are also floss holders that are often used by children and patients with less dexterity. Our office also has a product made by Sonicare called an Air Flosser. This product lets out a quick burst or air and liquid between each tooth. It is important to find a technique of flossing that works best for you so that it will become part of your daily routine.
