Given the vast array of physical disabilities, there will always be potential concerns regarding physical limitations and mobility. It is always important to treat individuals with disabilities equally by showing them the same amount of respect as to those without limitations. The staff at Commerce Drive Dental just completed a hands-on training called safe patient handling. We learned a variety of techniques to assist patients with limited mobility or those that find themselves in a situation where they need assistance transferring. Another portion of the training dealt with assistance as it relates to the prevention of falls while transferring. Teamwork and our new education will help facilitate these safe transfers and allows us to better accommodate anyone who is in need.
