Acid Erosion

Acid erosion is the tooth enamel’s exposure to acids in our diet.  These acids can actually change the shape of our teeth, making them thinner and causing sensitivity.  You can protect your teeth from this acid attack by eliminating foods that are high in acid such as soda pop, sports drinks, and fruit juices.  You can also use a toothpaste that will protect your enamel and help with sensitivity (such as Pronamel).  If left untreated, these areas will probably require dental treatment in the future.
